About
Hello, my name is Audrey Keating, I am a qualified Licentiate Photographer with the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers. I own and run A.c.K Photography.
We are based in Dronfield, just outside Sheffield, near the gorgeous Peak District. We cover Dronfield, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Hope Valley, the rest of Derbyshire, Yorkshire and the rest of the UK.
The ethos of A.c.K Photography is relaxed, and unobtrusive, taking natural images of your special day. We don’t pose, we work with you, going with the flow of your day. We want to get the most natural results we can, a ‘fly on the wall’ approach.
We want to make the images as special to you, as the day itself. The only time we will be noticed is when we steal you away for your private portrait session. But even then, we go with you, no poses, we will ask a couple of things from you but everything is natural and flows with you.
Our Lifestyle portrait shoots are fun and relaxed, we work with you so you enjoy the shoot and have a fantastic selection of stunning images to choose from.
Now, let me tell you a little about myself.
I grew up in Stirling, Scotland, a beautiful place with fantastic scenery. I have always had a keen interest in photography since I was at school where I owned my first camera, a Zenith EM.
I spent many years in the Civil Service while pursuing my hobby of Short Track Speed Skating. Once I retired from the sport I needed to change in my life. I resigned from the Civil Service and begun my photography career in earnest. I have spent over 10 years developing my skills as a photographer. I completed my training and worked in a couple of studios with a modern contemporary style. I moved to Sheffield and did some work with a friend of mine on event shoots. He then convinced me to shoot with him on a wedding. I loved it and I have never looked back, it is so much fun.
I know it is a bit of a cliche but I am passionate about what I shoot and the way I shoot it. I love the art in photography, especially since digital has opened up a whole new world.
My equipment is Canon, I love them and would not switch to anything else. The results I get are fantastic. I have trained with medium format and digital SLR’s. I have shot with Bronica, Hasselblad, Fuji, oh, and not forgetting the Zenith.
I dream that someday the step between my mind and my finger will no longer be needed. And that simply by blinking my eyes, I shall make pictures. Then, I think, I shall really have become a photographer.
